2026 marks Golden Thread’s 30th anniversary, and we are celebrating three decades of bringing our communities together to reclaim our narratives as the first American theater company dedicated to the Middle East. Will you join us in securing the next 30 years for Golden Thread?

Golden Thread has remained an unwavering, multicultural voice for Middle Eastern and North African communities as we continue to witness the devastation of violence and oppression locally and abroad. Our stories defy stereotypes and challenge false narratives with rich humanity. In 30 years, we have centered:

• CREATIVITY, by producing more than 150 plays, most of them world premieres. While helping expand the Middle Eastern canon of American theatre, we have been an artistic home to such important artists as Yussef El Guindi, Mona Mansour, and Evren Odcikin.
• COMMUNITY, by serving more than 80,000 audience members and employing over 2,000 artists, majority of whom are women, queer, BIPOC, or of Middle Eastern heritage.
• COURAGE, by partnering with more than 150 organizations fighting for justice, and curating work that speaks to the needs of our communities, including our Women’s Day Celebrations, 24 Hours for Palestine, and MENA Theater Makers Alliance Convenings.

And our communities need us now more than ever. As government funding dwindles and censorship rises, our next step is clear: build a strong foundation for growth and stability, ensuring that this essential cultural home continues to thrive.
