Productions is a growing
theatre company.
Internships are a great
opportunity to work
directly with the
leadership of the
company and learn about
the day to day work of
non-profit theatre.
Below are on-going
opportunities for
internship. From time to
time, we may also have
production-specific
opportunities.
Literary
Management
• The two main areas of
activity in Literary
Management are Play
Selection and Production
Support.
--Play Selection:
You will catalog plays
submitted to Golden
Thread, read each play &
write a brief synopsis,
discuss plays with the
Artistic director and
make recommendations.
You will also distribute
general call for
submissions, outreach to
playwrights and play
development centers.
--Production Support:
You will conduct
research into the
content of the play to
support the director,
designers and the cast.
You will prepare
information packets for
the production,
contribute to program
notes and informational
posters in the lobby
during the play’s run.
Production
• Production
responsibilities include
stage management,
assisting directors,
back stage crew,
set/costume/prop build &
paint, help in load in &
strike.
• Production management
support includes
scheduling, budgeting,
assisting with
contracts, resourcing
material & support.
Administrative
• Learn about the
business of theatre:
contracts, bookkeeping,
database management,
fundraising & box
office. Advanced
responsibilities may
include Board
development,
grant-writing & donor
cultivation.
Marketing
•
Opportunities in
Marketing are mainly
focused on audience
identification, research
and community outreach.
Specific tasks may
include internet
research, database
entries, developing
marketing research
material, contacting
potential sponsors &
developing partnerships.
Stipend and/or school
credit may be available.
